Hoarding Helpers receive referrals from Local Authorities the majority being from Adult Social Care and Housing teams.
Our typical goal is to support our hoarding customers to move on from their current hoarding position to (as close as we can to) Level 3 in the widely used Clutter Image Rating (CIR).
Every hoarding customer is unique. We will work with the referring agency and the person to give:
- A tailored approach to tackling the extreme clutter or hoarding; full clearance, deep cleans, or a slower placed therapeutic sorting and organising of possessions to reduce fire, avalanche and trip hazards.
- The disposal of waste can be recycled and donated where possible. All our waste is removed to a certified waste site. We are registered with the environment agency. Beware of cheaper cleaning companies that dump waste illegally.
- A dedicated hoarding practitioner is assigned to each case, providing continuity and sustained weekly interventions (packages only)
- Support to build rapport and trust.
- Optional weekly or bi weekly staged support following clearance and deep cleans to monitor and support the customer from returning to their hoarding ways.
- We offer reports for social workers and housing officers.
- We comply with GDPR regulations and can amend and create reports on data help. We can erase data when required or after work is completed.
- Free fire checks with alerts to appropriate teams.
- Welfare concerns are also reported immediately.
