Dehoarding and Decluttering Service

Hoarding Helpers receive referrals from Hospital Trusts, Local Authorities,  family members and self-referrals.

Our typical goal is to support our hoarding customers to move on from their current hoarding position to (as close as we can to) Level 1 in the widely used Clutter Image Rating (CIR). Every hoarding customer is unique. We will work with the referring agency and the person to give:

  • A tailored approach to tackling the extreme clutter or hoarding; full clearance, deep cleans, or a slower placed therapeutic sorting and organising of possessions to reduce fire, avalanche and trip hazards.
  • The disposal of waste can be recycled and donating where possible.
  • A dedicated hoarding practitioner is assigned to each case, providing continuity and sustained weekly interventions (packages only)
  • Support to build rapport and trust.
  • Optional weekly or bi weekly staged support following clearance and deep cleans  to monitor and support the customer from returning to their hoarding ways.
